Welcome to my world of music. Music for All. As a private music instructor, I want my students to not only learn the notes on the pages but to see everything that is around those many black dots on the page. All the signs, symbols, who wrote that piece of music, and the history behind every aspect of the music being played. I want my students to learn and enjoy their art of being able to play music. Whether they are 5 years old and just beginning or 95 years old and freshening up on their skills, I am committed to keeping the interest of learning music a part of my students' lives. At any age at any level, we can explore and create a beautiful musical experience together. My focus is more than teaching music, my hope is to provide a life-long love for instrumental music.

♪I have been teaching students music lessons since I was in high school back in the early '80s. My high school band director had me working with individual classmates to help them with their performances and auditions. I started piano lessons myself, at the age of four which started me on my musical journey. I took piano lessons all the way into college. I found other instruments along the way that I also took lessons on and played regularly.  I attended Troy State University on a Double Music Scholarship for flute and oboe. Flute being my major instrument, and oboe as a secondary. Of course, I continued to play and take lessons on the piano as well. I took two years of Music Education at Pensacola State College and finished my Bachelor's in Business Management at Florida State College.

Being a member of different styles of bands, Jazz, Dixieland, Flute Choir, Concert, and Musicals helped to build my level of playing on many different instruments. Fast-forward to adulthood, I have played with the orchestra pits for local musicals at the Seager Theatre in Pensacola and at Pensacola State College. I have been a member of the Pensacola Civic Band since 1989, and two years ago joined the Pensacola Bay Band. I am the only member of either band to switch instruments as needs arise. From Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Trumpet, Tenor and Bari Saxophone, and percussion, I like to be versatile and keep my playing skills up. With this, I want to empower my students to learn and appreciate all styles of music and beyond the regular skill of learning to play an instrument, enjoy what they do.                                                                                                                        Me playing trumpet in the Pensacola Civic Band.
